Humanities and Social Sciences Week
The Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) Learning Area celebrated HASS week in Week 8 of Term 2. The week included many activities designed to showcase the numerous opportunities and pathways available to students in HASS.
Homeroom classes participated in the Homeroom Quiz, and with some great prizes on offer, there was certainly some fierce competition.
Year 8 students participated in the Medieval Cake Competition, which produced some worthy winners and also an enjoyable and educational experience for Year 8 HASS classes.
Year 10 Market Day provided an opportunity for all students to see the hard work of the Year 10 Small Business Management classes. This was a fabulous event with some amazing and creative products on offer.
Year 10 students also benefited from an excursion to Parliament House and the Constitutional Centre. This was a wonderful learning experience for our students who had the opportunity to view the work of many lower school students who had their models of Ancient Rome and medieval life displayed in the Library and Administration area.
HASS week was a great success, thanks to the enthusiasm of the students and the efforts of the HASS staff. I offer a sincere thanks to the teachers in the HASS Learning Area for your dedication and support of our students.
