Year 7s stay safe online
Paul Litherland, a former WA Police Officer with over 20 years' experience, delivered a very informative and pertinent presentation to our Year 7s this week.
His engaging presentation included current information on cyber bullying, digital citizenship, online footprints and social networking. He had a strong impact on the girls, who were captivated by his real-life stories and good humour.
Using relevant examples, Paul helped the girls understand the risks of being online and how to observe the warning signs, showing the girls how to use social networking safely whilst still enjoying interaction with their peers.
"I found Paul Litherland's talk very informative and eye opening. He showed us many ways to keep safe online and some of the outcomes that could happen if you aren't. He showed us that even if you don't have social media, using the internet can be dangerous, and to always think before you do anything online. I enjoyed this talk very much, and have taken lots of the information on board." Sophie Vasseliff
"It was a phenomenal opportunity to hear about online safety and cyber bullying." Francesca Santelli
"Paul's talk reminded our Year 7s how to be safe online. He was very good because he didn't say you have to delete your accounts, instead he said that we need to follow the rules." Lucy Frank
