A Gourmet Pop-Up Shop at Iona
The Food Science and Technology students have recently completed a Task linked to Preservation.
Each group trialled various recipes, made choices, costed recipes, designed labels, calculated nutrition information, and finally, ran an online Pop Up Store.
The quality of the products was first rate and they could easily have sat on the shelves of a Gourmet Food Shop. Beef Jerky, Yoghurt Bark, Cumquat Marmalade, Kombucha, Lemon Curd and Apple Jam all quickly sold out! This authentic task allowed a variety of new skills to be learnt and applied to a real-life situation.
