Year 8 Brainstorm Challenge Day
Science, Literacy and Innovation were the focus as our girls worked in teams of three at the Year 8 Brainstorm Challenge Day last week.
In an array of STEM focused activities, our girls competed against students from other Catholic Secondary Schools.
Activities involved design and problem solving, creative and critical thinking to solve the engineering challenge dilemma, the pH issue in Marron tanks, deciphering mathematical codes and travelling into the farthest depths in our universe.
"The girls embraced the challenges with enthusiasm and determination," said Louise Ormesher, Gifted and Talented Coordinator.
Rachael Brett, Naomi Ottley and Bridget Garbellini (Iona Brain) had a great day, placing third out of 45 teams, with only a matter of a few points between them and the winning team.
"It was a fun day of awesome team work that challenged our brains in a scientific manner that was very invigorating," said Rachael Brett 8 O'Dowling.
