Iona girls make a difference supporting Vincent's Project for the Homeless
Sixteen students from Years 8 to 11 went to Sacred Heart College in Sorrento to participate in an exciting and extremely rewarding service opportunity recently.
We supported Vincent's Project for the Homeless, and helped him, along with many other volunteers, pack bags that will be distributed to the homeless and those in need.
The packs included items such as toiletries, water bottles, towels, blankets, pillows and hygiene products. Everyone participated with great enthusiasm and excitement at this wonderful opportunity to help those less fortunate.
It was a great learning opportunity for us, recognising how much of a difference just one person can make with a great idea, and how it sparks others around them to do the same and help within the community. We also realised how much effort people put into serving others, and how if everyone contributes we can make a huge difference.
We would like to thank Miss Thomson, Mrs Thomas, Mrs Devenish and Miss Moore for helping organise and accompanying us on this great opportunity.
