Where are they now? Searching for the Class of 1977
More than 8,000 Past Pupils of Iona Presentation College are scattered throughout Australia and the world. Dentists, mechanics, musical theatre stars, land developers, teachers and mums; all with stories of their past experiences at Iona's beautiful campus in Mosman Park.
Iona is now looking for students from the Class of 1977, as they prepare to celebrate 40 years since leaving the College. And with some very beautiful and old photographs preserved in Iona's archives, the College has a lovely surprise for some of their Past Pupils.
"When we were in Year 12, the College requested that we bring a photograph of our childhood," said one Past Pupil.
"Photos were a rare commodity in those times, nothing like today. We certainly didn't have Instagram and Snapchat documenting our lives."
Having lost touch with many students from the Class of 1977, the College is reaching out to the community for help.
"We have these very precious and beautiful original photographs we would like to give back to our Past Pupils, many of whom may not have seen these images for 40 years," said Principal Mrs Anne Pitos.
"If you have a friend, family member or acquaintance from the Class of 1977, please tell them to contact the College, hopefully we will have a very precious photograph they can share with their family and friends."
Iona Presentation College invites students from the Class of 1977 to contact the College for information about their 40 Year Reunion on Saturday 2 September from 5.00 to 7.00pm. The cherry on the cake will be receiving a long lost photograph from their childhood. For more information, please contact Cathy Broad on cbroad@iona.wa.edu.au or (08) 9384 0066.
