Artificial Intelligence is transforming the way we learn, work and live.
At Iona Presentation College, we are taking a considered, informed and purposeful approach to AI, ensuring students are equipped to engage with emerging technologies safely, ethically and effectively.
Guided by educational research and best practice, staff expertise and student wellbeing, we have established a dedicated AI Working Party, developed clear guidelines for staff and students, undertaken extensive staff professional learning and are implementing a Kindergarten to Year 12 Digital and AI Literacy Program. Together, these initiatives build students' understanding of AI, digital technologies, online safety, data privacy and critical thinking.
At Iona, we see AI as neither something to fear nor something to embrace uncritically.
Students learn that AI is a powerful tool that can enhance learning but should never replace their own thinking, effort, judgement or creativity. They are taught to use AI responsibly, evaluate information critically, safeguard their privacy and uphold academic integrity.
By combining innovation with strong values, we are preparing students to thrive in a future where human intelligence and artificial intelligence work together.
