Splash and Dash! Students Dive into Fun for a Cause
The Year 11 and 12 students at Iona College recently came together for an exciting and meaningful event – the Splash and Dash, an obstacle course that blended the thrill of both water and land challenges.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the risks of melanoma and the importance of being sun smart, in partnership with the Melanoma Institute and Presentation Sister Missions.
The course featured a range of fun obstacles, from slippery water slides to flipper runs, tyres, inflatables and pool noodle hurdles, offering participants a chance to test their teamwork whilst supporting an important cause. Thanks to the dedication of the Student Leaders, the Splash and Dash raised an impressive $1,000. This money will be split between the Melanoma Institute, supporting research and awareness efforts, and Presentation Sister Missions, which focuses on providing aid to communities in need.
Overall, the event was a resounding success, with a Year 11 team taking out the Senior Cup trophy. The Year 12's are looking forward to a rematch in the terms to come...
