Scholarships
Iona Presentation College is proud to offer Academic and Music scholarships. We invite students from Catholic, Independent and Government schools to apply, whose values align with those of the College. A willingness to actively participate in the life of the College is an essential prerequisite. Academic Scholarships offer either a 25% or 50% reduction in College tuition fees.

General Information Regarding Academic Scholarships
Scholarship examinations will be held at the College on Monday 23 February 2026 and are facilitated by external examiners.
Any eligible student entering Year 7 or Year 10 in 2027 (including current students) is welcome to apply.
Students who perform well in their testing will be invited to an interview in the following May, with our Principal to assist in the final selection.
Scholarships are awarded based on the interview and results of the Academic Assessment Services Examination. At the interview, the Principal will take into account the student's involvement in her own school and local community.
All candidates will be notified of the outcome in writing by early June.

Academic Scholarships
- Sister Alacoque Gittins Academic Scholarship - a minimum of two (2) academic scholarships will be awarded to incoming Year 7 students.
- Sister Joan Evans General Excellence Scholarship - a minimum of one (1) scholarship will be awarded to an incoming Year 7 student.
- Iona Past Pupils Association (IPPA) Scholarship - a minimum of one (1) academic scholarship will be awarded to an incoming Year 7 student, who is the daughter / stepdaughter / granddaughter of a Past Pupil.
- Sister John Jones General Excellence Scholarship - a minimum of one (1) academic scholarship will be awarded to a student entering Year 10.
Music Scholarships
Music Scholarship are offered each year in both our Junior and Senior Schools.
Junior School Scholarships
Applications for Junior School Music Scholarships for 2027 will open in October 2026.
In the Junior School, two types of scholarships available each year:
- Sister Patricia Downey Music Scholarship for Aptitude - Suzuki Strings Program (Pre-primary and Year 1)
- Sister Patricia Downey Music Scholarship for Aptitude - Year 5 Beginner Band Program
To be eligible, applicants must be a fully enrolled student (in the year of application) or a current student and must be available for an interview after applications close.

Senior School Scholarships
Applications for Senior School Music Scholarships for 2027 are NOW OPEN and will close at 5pm on Friday 13 February 2026.
Senior School Music Scholarships are open to fully enrolled students from Years 7 to 12 at Iona in 2027 and will cover Music tuition fees.
Applications are accepted for all instruments, including voice and applicants must meet the following criteria;
- be a current Iona student or fully enrolled future student for 2027 (Years 7 10 12)
- piano: Grade 4 AMEB or equivalent or above
- woodwind, brass, strings, guitar, voice and percussion: Grade 2 AMEB or equivalent or above
Students applying for a 2027 Music Scholarship will be required to attend an audition at the College in March 2026.

Audition Requirements
Students will be required to:
- perform two contrasting pieces on their first instrument
- complete some short ear tests
- take part in a short interview
Candidates who play more than one instrument should audition with their strongest instrument. Additional musical experience can be discussed during the interview.
A piano accompanist can be provided if requested at the time of application. A sound system is available for backing tracks; please bring these on a Bluetooth-enabled device or a USB drive..

MADALAH Scholarships
MADALAH Limited is a not-for-profit organisation that offers secondary and tertiary education scholarships for Indigenous students, primarily from remote and regional communities, to WA's leading boarding schools and Australian universities.
MADALAH secondary scholarships provide support to students from Years 7-12. These scholarships are administered by MADALAH on behalf of the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA).
