Students are encouraged to participate in a range of cultural pursuits whilst at Iona.

These activities are aimed at enriching each student's experience, helping to build their diversity of interests, developing their sense of self and purpose. A range of the many and varied cultural opportunities that students can enter into are:

Performing Arts:

Junior School Productions, Junior Production (Years 7-9), College Production (Musical), Year 11 Shakespeare Production, IGSSA Dance, Interhouse Dance, Performing Arts Festival, and the Junior School Dance Club, Liturgical Dance (Junior School)

Production Arts:

APEX Fashion, Ceramics Workshops, Community Cook Up, Glass Jewellery Workshops, Grafitti Art Workshops, Royal Show Iona Cafe, Uthando Dolls and Visual Arts and Design Showcase Club.


Junior School opportunities include: Choirs (Year 3/4, Year 5/6), Little Sisters,  Rock Bands, String Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Ukelele Club (Years 5/6) and Violin Ensemble.

Senior School opportunities include: Brass Ensemble, Chorale, Clarinet Choir, Concert Band, Flute Choir, Guitar Ensemble, Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, Rock Band, String Ensemble, String Orchestra, Swing Out Sisters, Symphony Orchestra, and The Embouchures

Students on both campuses may also participate in private music lessons encompassing a wide range of instruments and voice training. All lessons are facilitated by highly qualified sessional music teachers who bring unique expertise and enthusiasm.
