2025 Fremantle Eisteddfod
The Fremantle Eisteddfod is one of the most comprehensive classical music competitions in Western Australia, running over two weeks in May and inviting both Senior and Junior students to participate.
We were proud to see a range of Ionians performing their best in the competition this year, with many achieving first, second and third place results as well as being invited to perform at the Winners Concert following the awards!
Brass, Grade 4
1st Place: Avery Walsh (7 O'Dowling Sea) - March (Tenor Horn)
2nd Place: Tama Fleay (8 Treacey) - Tequila Sunrise (Trombone)
3rd Place: Phoebe Miller (10 O'Halloran) - Lightly Latin (Trumpet)
Congratulations also to Alesija Kennington (8 O'Halloran) and April Bruton (9 Columba) for their brilliant participation!
Brass, Grade 5
1st Place: Samara Cavosie-Pletsch (8 Columba) - I See a Huntsman (Horn)
Samara has also won a performance opportunity at the Junior Winners Concert held in Government House!
Piano, Grade 4 (List A/B) Group 1
2nd Place: Charlotte Chew (4B Treacey) - Une Larme
Piano, Grade 6 (List C/D) Group 1
3rd Place: Lauren Chew (8 Kildare) - Chanson Triste
Strings, Grade 5
1st Place: Emma Lam (7 O'Dowling River) - Slicked back tango (Cello)
Emma has also won a performance opportunity at the Junior Winners Concert held in Government House!

Wind, Age Group Recital (Age 18 and under)
3rd Place: Cinzia Arcidiacono (12 Moynihan) - Morceau de Concours / IV Passepied (Flute)
