Senior Ethics Olympiad - World Finalists! img_6859.jpeg

We are proud to announce that a team of Year 12 students represented our school with distinction at the International Senior Ethics Olympiad, held virtually on 24 Wednesday July 2025. Competing in the prestigious international final in our fourth consecutive year, Iona joined 52 teams from 11 countries, all tackling the same challenging ethical cases explored during the national rounds. The questions were unseen and very challenging, which made for a rewarding experience.

At the finals, our Year 12 students continued to demonstrate exceptional philosophical insight and ethical sensitivity. A special thank you to Hanna-Grace Tedjasaputra (12 O'Halloran), our Academic Captain, for stepping in to support our team at the highest level.

We are thrilled to congratulate our International Finalists:

  • Pearl Barrow-Jones (12 Moynihan)
  • Holly Bulger (12 Kildare)
  • Darcy Franklyn (12 O'Dowling)
  • Samantha Lee (12 O'Halloran)
  • Elisa Rosignoli (12 O'Halloran)
  • Hanna-Grace Tedjasaputra (12 O'Halloran)

Their achievement on the global stage is a testament to their hard work, intellect, and integrity. We commend these students for representing Iona so impressively and thank our Ethics Olympiad Coaches, Ava Hardman and Evelyn Franklyn for their support and mentorship.

What a wonderful opportunity for Iona students to share their ideas with peers from diverse cultural backgrounds!
