S.M.A.R.T (Science, Mathematics and Real-world Technologies) program
The Year 7 S.M.A.R.T (Science, Mathematics, and Real-world Technologies) program for 2018 is an integrated, problem-based learning approach to exploring the STEM subjects.
A dedicated team of teachers have designed the innovative learning program to align the math standards with direct application in science to promote a deeper understanding of the content. The students will be engaged in learning to code, robotics, and engineering design in the Learning in a Digital Age class, which directly support the topics in maths and science. In 2018, an innovation lab will be unveiled to support the students in creating solutions to real-world problems using a variety of methods. Fully equipped with Lego EV3 robots, Arduino processing components and Little Bits, the girls will have access to cutting edge technology. The staff involved with the S.M.A.R.T program have participated in specialised training to be able to support the girls in their learning journey.
